Higher Education

Through our CollegeCareerCorps® model, Cook Systems International also possesses a unique experience in higher education. Cook Systems International has client/partner relationships with over 30 nationally recognized colleges and universities.

Participation in the CollegeCareerCorps® provides many benefits to colleges and universities. With students working in major organizations, colleges and universities can now have greater access into the organizations and are up-to-date about the issues that significantly affect current and future Information Technology innovations and business practices.

The CollegeCareerCorps® gives higher education institutions a strong outreach initiative for enabling them to receive real world experience in jobs not typically available through the schools.

Being informed about current key business issues allows colleges and universities to enhance the relevance of their curriculum as well. Furthermore, this inside knowledge provides opportunities for research and specialization. In some cases, you can leverage the specialization into certification programs and training.

Cook Systems International also helps identify and can provide sponsored research opportunities. These opportunities enable faculty and college departments the ability to engage in specific corporate and government initiative projects within the community.

In addition, the CollegeCareerCorps® provides our higher education partners with an additional source of revenue to fund research as well as student scholarships. In fact, as a charter sponsor, Cook Systems International has been highly involved in the creation of the nationally recognized Systems Testing Excellence Program at the University of Memphis' FedEx Institute of Technology. Cook Systems International utilizes the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis for providing additional research, training, technology, and project option initiatives through our collaborative partnership agreement with the University.  Our clients have received an added value by utilizing our services through the CollegeCareerCorps® for best practices in testing methodologies and for completing project option deliverables at a lowest and best price.

Cook Systems International

Cook Systems International has also made substantial financial contributions back to our partner colleges and universities in the CollegeCareerCorps® program.  For example, senior management led Cook Systems International in giving over $100,000 to the University of Memphis for helping create the Systems Testing Excellence Program (S.T.E.P.), an interdisciplinary research initiative at the University’s FedEx Institute of Technology, a 95,000-square-foot facility on the University of Memphis campus equipped with state-of-the-art technology capabilities.

S.T.E.P. focuses on advancing the knowledge and science of software testing and positions the University to become a nationally and internationally recognized thought leader in the science of systems testing.

The leadership in testing and quality assurance by Cook Systems International’s co-founding of S.T.E.P., along with FedEx, has helped this University of Memphis program to now become the largest research-based software testing center in the world.

"Our faculty’s research agenda will be enhanced greatly by Cook Systems International's support of the STEP Research Center," said U of M President Shirley Raines.  "Our corporate partners will benefit from work completed at the highest levels of quality while building their workforce for the future and our students will benefit from the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge to practical applications with part-time employment and internships."

Additionally, Cook Systems International makes additional contributions and gifts back to our college and university partners as a reward for student involvement and participation in CollegeCareerCorps® initiatives.  These awards include financial contributions, acts of service, etc. While colleges and universities throughout the country have seen dramatic funding cuts due to the recession, Cook Systems International’s CollegeCareerCorps® has provided new and important additional revenue streams.

Cook Systems International's in depth expertise in higher education has not only proven to be beneficial to educational institutions throughout the country but also by being a real means of getting critical I.T. work done at globally competitive prices for businesses and government entities.
